Poggio a Cajano is a land of history and soft hills between Florence and Pistoia. Already in the 15th century, the Medici family appreciated its strategic and agricultural value: Cosimo de' Medici acquired the first possessions, and Lorenzo the Magnificent supervised the regulation of the Ombrone River, the creation of an ideal farm in Tavola and the construction of Villa Medici, which still dominates the landscape.
The artisans who worked on the villa laid the foundation for the village, which developed not as a rural hamlet, but as a vibrant community with an urban character. Over time, the presence of the Medici court, followed by the Lorraines and Savoyards, enhanced its prosperity and artisanal traditions. Today it is an elegant residential area surrounded by hills, vineyards and olive groves, with views stretching to Florence and the Brunelleschi Dome.

The exteriors of the villa embody the restrained monumental elegance of the Tuscan Renaissance. The central building rises above the wide base and opens onto an exceptional panoramic terrace of 600 m2 with views of the Carmignano hills, Villa Medici and, in the distance, Florence. The facade is decorated with a picturesque loggia with three arches, and the side wings add architectural harmony.
The landscaped park with an area of about 3,200 m has mature trees and spacious lawns.
